Home is where the Heart is
So this turned out way cuter then I had even hoped. I saw this post where they gave you a link to print out state maps that way you could mark where you have lived on them. I have had the great pleasure in my life to live in 4 states AND have a had a huge blank wall in my bedroom that I have been meaning to fill. Enter my latest project. I spent about 8 dollars on the whole thing; $6 at the dollar store to buy 4 frames, a pack of construction paper, and a little bag of sticker hearts. I also paid $2 dollars at my local library for color prints since I didn't want to waste ink.
I cut true to the lines in the 4 states I was working with, used white construction paper as the background, and then put a little heart over the place that I lived. It was very simple, took less then 20 min to put together, and now when I look at that wall I am reminded of great memories of people and places that shaped who I am. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a little piece of themselves turned into art. P.S I apologize for the blurry pictures I have terrible lighting in my room! I will try to get better pictures up soon! Happy Pinning. xoxo Sam

Workflow Boredom
So today at work I have spent 13 hours doing nothing. It has been so dead in here a coworker started to doze off in his chair. So like the good girl that I am I spent most of the day trolling pinterest. And then I found it... the perfect work craft for passing time. I give you nerdy origami out of post it notes. This is the first type of origami I have done besides paper swans lol. I felt the subject matter was appropriate. For anyone who wants to try out this craft hit up the original tutorial at http://themetapicture.com/origami-pikachu/

A Craft Virginity Lost
OK! Time for my first project. To be honest I searched for the easiest one... turns out that even though the process is easy, me actually doing it isn't. It's easily one of the most common craft pins that I see posted. You buy cheap dinnerware from the dollar store and with a sharpie create permanent transfer. Sounds pretty simple doesn't it? Ha... you don't know me well enough yet. At least I had a great idea. I decided instead of just monogramming that I would write the latitude and longitude of some of my favorite places on the mugs. I know... pretty dang cute huh. Turns out my first craft should have been penmanship. The writing is a little sloppy (Mugs are totally circular, get off my back foul craft judging beast)and its not uniform the whole way around but on the whole not bad for my first time I guess. I think these would make cute presents. You could do their new address, a hospital location for a birth, a great vacation, etc. I chose Bryce Canyon Overlook in Utah and my first address in Loveland, Colorado. I think i'll do more with other memorable places. But here you go, Finished product!
From Humble Beginnings
I am the least crafty person I know, quite possibly the least crafty of all people. I can Barely draw a Stick Figure. (Cleverly named blog counts as being crafty right?) This blog is going to follow my attempts at trying things I drool over on Pinterest. I figure after somewhere in the ballpark of 756 pins I should stop dreaming and start trying! So here's to you my sisters in craft shame, no longer will we be envious of others talent! We can fumble through this together! Happy Pinning! XOXO Sammy
